ANTROPOLOGY RITUAL

Hi bloggers!

I'm here again because is Friday and I have English class. But I'm not going to write about boring stuffs. I must tell you about one particular institution of my career, The Ritual.

It is a initiation for all the newbies, but it is also the first moment of our semester when we can celebrate with the other older students.

For me it was really good. first we met us at 21,00 and they (the older students) covered up our eyes, then we started a long trip hearing all class of jungle noises, ritual mapuche instruments and all kinds of noises.

We were drugged, and after one and a half hour we stopped walking, and we seat on the grass.
On the second part of our ritual, there were a lot of artistic shows with fire, bands, and drum circles. After that I went with my career godparent to another place and she said some really lovely things. I was so emotional. It was so beautiful.

After all those beautiful things, we went to a party. And it was really good, they have a lot of alcohol (I love piscolas, it is Pisco with Coca Cola), music and drugs. I remember that there was the most beautiful guy I have ever seen, and we spent really good time together (if you know what I mean..)

I arrived home at 4.00 very tired but happy.

The ritual is more than a regular party, it is the best party of the year in our career and for me it was really good.

Expectations for a new semester! (and another surprise)

(This entrance its going to be boring, so you can go to another interesting blog.)

So, I have to write about my subjects AND IF YOU DON'T WANT TO STUDY ANTHROPOLOGY THIS MAY NOT INTEREST YOU.

My subjects are Anthropology, Archaeology, Social History of Latin America, Philosophy, Methods and Biology (yes, I have Biology at University). My loved subject is Social History because we have to think like the latin americans -who were normal people like you or I- that were very important to their own country and they really made contributions to build our Latin American Identity.

What do I do in my extra time.

In my career we have to read a lot. REALLY A LOT. So I don't have so much extra time, but when I don't have to study I take a bus, and in 2 hours I'm at my parents home in Viña del Mar (a lovely city near the sea, it´s very beautiful so if you are thinking about traveling, you may go there). There I met my school friends and we do stupid things, we get drunk and then we go to disco's.

But I'm not just a party lover, I have social conscience.

I want to participle in political stuff. If you (my lovely reader) want to understand some manifestations in Chile you may know that here we have a lot of problems in different categories (education, health, retirement, lgbt movements, abortion and political corruption).

I have a writer group, I love poetry and I'm a little nerd on my musicals tastes, I'm 19 and love Mozart. (my favorite Mozart concert)

I don't really have big expectations about this new academic period but I know that I want to got goods results.

IF YOU READ ALL THIS, YOU HAVE MY HEART.

What this blog is for.

Hi, I'm Pepe and I'm studying Anthropology at the Universidad de Chile. For my English class I have to create a blog about terms we discuss in class. It isn't the most exciting thing to do but I'm going to make it a little funny

To make it clear, here in Chile we called "vaciles" to the university's party's, and on my campus -when I'm doing this- all my other classmates are in those party's because it's Friday.

Anyway enjoy this hell, it can be really good (or bad), I don't know.

xoxo, Pepe.
